Event Details
Every 1st Friday join us at the Liaison Room where we’ll be throwing down some of the best house and dance music Philly’s got to offer on The Liaison Room’s custom Funktion-One sound system. This room was specifically designed for maximum sound output with warm lows and equalized high-end output.
Each month we will showcase a different Bangarang Resident(s) and a special guest DJ. We will also feature a different visual artist on display with wares available for purchase. We all love to dress up and wear costumes, and while there is no theme for this event, like there are for others of ours, we highly encourage you to dress up in your funnest, funkiest, fanciest, most fabulous, most you attire, whatever you feel like! Come out and support your local artists while enjoying the low, sweet hum of bass, sipping on a drink and catching up — for old time’s sake!
This month, on Friday July 5, we’ll have musical performances from special guest, Bumpy Nuggets, and Bangarang’s Substance D. Our featured artist of the month is Max Alexandra (Max Muerte).
Guest DJ: Bumpy Nuggets (NYC, Kolour Recordings)
Hailing from NYC, by way of Chicago and Philly, Bumpy Nuggets has been a staple of the underground house scene for 17 years. Bumpy began throwing Chicago loft parties in 1999, until his return to NYC in 2001. He quickly gained notoriety DJ’ing at legendary NYC venues such as Centro Fly and Sullivan Room, as well as warehouse parties throughout the 5 boros. Sir Nuggets is currently a regular at Cielo and TBA Brooklyn, as well as running his infamous Quality Control party in the East Village. While maintaining his success as a DJ and label owner, Bumpy is also heavily involved in the nationwide burner community.
His passion for house music led to his current role as co-owner of Kolour Recordings with longtime friend, Oscar P, releasing music by Kink, Huxley, Delano Smith and the recent album by Soul Minority. Bumpy’s signature style behind the decks ranges from the smoothest deep house to cutting edge techno, always with a mind for the dancefloor, keeping it funky, bumpin and always a bit dirty. With a busy DJ schedule in NY and beyond, Bumpy Nuggets continues his crusade to keep the underground underground. Recognize.

Bangarang: Substance D
The collaborative super-compound created by Bangarang’s mad scientists (and bass junkies) Dylan Moxie & DSquared
“Cold turkey doesn’t even apply to substance D. Unlike the legacy of inherited predisposition to addictive behaviors or substances, this needs no genetic assistance. There are no weekend warriors on the D. You’re either on it…. or you haven’t tried it.” -James Barris
Calculatedly addicted to SubstanceD
