MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for the Treatment of PTSD is coming to Philadelphia!!
In fact, TWO Philadelphia sites have begun training with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) for the Expanded Access protocol that will allow clinics to provide this ground-breaking treatment while Phase 3 research is still underway.
This treatment is going to save lives, but it is still very expensive. We vow to make it accessible to everyone who needs it, but we need your help!
Please join us for an evening of food, drink, community-building, and fundraising as we welcome to Philadelphia representatives from MAPS as well as the research team that developed this amazing treatment protocol.
Funds raised at this benefit will be applied to a fund developed to defray the significant training costs to our Philadelphia therapists. One center, The Landing, is in Wyndmoor, PA and the other center is in West Philly, near Cedar Park. Both will be opening soon, and will offer MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy to treat severe PTSD pending FDA approval of MAPS’ Expanded Access protocol. We are a group of diverse, interdisciplinary mental health and medical professionals, and we are very, very excited to offer this innovative therapy.

As published in Psychopharmacology (May 2019), in a study of six completed Phase 2 trials of MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy for treatment-resistant PTSD, researchers found that 54% of the 103 participants no longer qualified for a PTSD diagnosis following the treatment. In Philadelphia, the poorest big city in the USA, the need for this treatment is immense. Both Philadelphia EA sites and MAPS are committed to ensuring this life-saving trauma treatment will be subsidized or underwritten for clients from under-served and marginalized communities.
Team members from each Philly site as well as special guests from MAPS will answer questions and offer brief remarks and updates on the research, training, and international expanded access site development. Tickets are available here or at the door for a sliding scale of $10-30, and donations to the non-profit will also be welcomed throughout the evening. We are grateful to the Liaison Room at Front Street Cafe for donating use of their space. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a delicious menu will be available for purchase.
